I have had an amazing few days, whilst making massive strides in my mission to make Life Coaching and Personal Development even more available to young people around the world.

Last weekend in Amersham I trained around 50 experienced coaches in the practicalities of Youth Coaching and I am so excited about the action they have already taken and have planned.

Then I was off to Blackpool and spoke at a conference for 200 of the UK’s finest civil servants inspiring them to be the best they can be and introducing them to youth coaching!

Then I was back in London, Oxford St of all places [no I was not shopping!] Delivering the one day coaching course to 100 young people [18-25]. Once again the letters of gratitude have been flooding in, sharing how the skills learnt and the experience shared has already impacted their lives and how they have even more confidence to get out their and help the poeple they serve and love

Now today is a day of reflection for me and whilst my wife and kids are at their respective schools, I have been reflecting and giving gratitude to all the amazing gifts i have been blessed with over the years, knowledge, experiences, people and so on.

When Kate [my wife] popped back for lunch I was ready to share with her all my gratitude for the lessons that I have aquired along my journey that I am blessed to share with others…

And before I could, I noticed she was not her usual super happy, bubbly self

So when I asked she shared that she was a little upset, because a young boy that she works with had shared some pretty disturbing information about what was happening to him at home!

Now Kate being the amazing professional she is listened to him and heard all that he had to share without overtly expressing her horror at what she was hearing!

Kate and her team took the appropriate steps required and all is in hand, what i want to focus on here was that I asked Kate how she felt and do you know what she shared me?

She was concerned that if this young boy does not see change in his circumstances he may not share or confide in her or anyone else for that matter.

My response was “well he did not choose to share with  anyone else before today, so at least he knows he does have someone who will listen and believe him, should he choose to share”

AND then Kate hit me with the biggest lesson

She shared that she was a little upset that whilst she had to write up a report on the matter above, she had to inform another young boy that the time she was due to spend with him had to be postponed and the little boy seemed so distraught and said ‘i enjoy my time with you “

Kate felt really bad

And being the amazing person she is, she decided that she would catch up with the young man who she had to postpone her session with and say to him that she too enjoys their session and missed it too today and that it was a one off.

What’s the lesson here?

I told my wife I love her soooo much as no matter how much time and money I have spent with all the amazing people who have shared their wisdom with me over the years, Kate reminded me that the most important thing is to keep the most important thing the most important thing.

Love is the answer – My wife LOVES the kids she ‘works’ with and they know it

In a world where we are busy ‘helping’ step back and let the young person you are serving know that you can make time for them and that they ARE special

As we do …

What was different was that today Harrison chose to spend an afternoon learning about investing !!!

I am very grateful for Minesh Bhindi who spent a few hours with Harrison 1-1 covering:

1) what is investing

2) trading versus buying stocks for long term

3) Compounding

4) how to virtually trade and buy stocks

5) how to set up his bank accounts so he can manage his money between SPENDING, Investing and Contributing!

And so much more [ including cars, apple macs, websites, creating products, football and those are just what Harrison was sharing!]

Harrison came home and not only shared what he had learnt with his mum, he did the same Rosie, his 8 year old sister!

So the lesson here is

Are you making any money? {If not sort it out! At least Go and find someone who is and copy them}

If you are making money no matter what the amount is BEGIN NOW to put a percentage of everything you earn aside for investing. Become an investor! It’s never too late and definitely never too Early!

Firstly may I begin with saying a huge thank you for joining me on

I do not take it lightly when people add their names as for me I do
not operate from the paradigm of building a ‘list’, for me its more
about building a community

he is and I was being my usual direct self and letting him know how
selfish he was being by wallowing in self pity of his ‘challenges’

Then I recommended he checks out a video of a young man that I admire
and love so dearly and challenged him to come back to me and look me
in the eye and tell me if he was not grateful for his amazing life
rather than keep pouring out a story of what’s wrong with relationships
or business etc

So this got me thinking and I have decided that this will be my gift for
you as you are in my community. I pose the same challenge to you too

Sure in life you have and probably will get knocked back or DOWN!
Will you get back up and moan or will you rise and be grateful?

Yes I have delivered many Community Coaching Programmes around the world, so what made this one extra special?

Firstly this event was fully sponsored by the amazing Community Coaching Programme Champions [Yes always looking for more, contact me for details!]

Secondly I was able to support my dear friend Ramona Pintea realise a vision and promise she made as a 16 year old. Her story itself is enough to make you reach for a tissue!

Ramona grew up in communist Romania and experienced the horrors and oppression of that era [lets remember it was only a couple of decades ago and i will share all the details in my interview with her later]. When communist rule was overturned by the revolution, just a few days after Ramona was at school and a truck arrived, laden with fruit, including bananas. She had never seen a banana before in her life. The truck load was a gift from a very wealthy Romanian who had moved to USA and at the first opportunity he had he was able to contribute to his community! Ramona had a paradigm shift – She had been conditioned that Rich and Wealthy people were evil and cared only for themselves, she just could not work out why this guy would think of them and send them such gifts. She decided that people do care and committed there and then to a vision of abundance and prosperity. Plus she promised herself that one day she too would come back to her school bearing gifts to remind the community that others do care. Her gift was not in the form of bananas, no it was me and the essential youth coaching skills programme!

So I found myself in the beautiful town of Brasov in Romania with just under 200 young people from various schools and some staff and partner organisations.

Well we did what we do and the reception was magical and humbling

The impact was and continues to be phenomenal and for the first time I will share the gratitude letters from the participants with even more people and not just the CCP Champs [who will receive so much more, videos, pics and a special DVD just for you!]

Just got back home to my wonderful family and am looking forward to a few days of magical moments with them.

So just a quick post to say the first ever Ultimate Challenge – Light Up Your Life seminar was a super success.

Like the young boy who travelled 2 miles through the
heat and dust just to get to school and learn… and
became one of the most influential men on the planet…

Like the guy who had a great business idea but who heard
‘NO’ over 700 times before he hit the really big money…

Like the housewife with 3 small children who chucked out her
cheating husband, went back to study law and became one of the
most inspiring people of her time…

The stories are everywhere…

Just like for those looking to make it to my Ultimate Challenge
Seminar.

Some of the stories are heartbreaking.

And some are truly magical.

One lady is moving heaven and earth in order to get childminders,
family and friends to look after her children whilst she’s
at the seminar.

Another person is booking tickets to fly down from Portugal – even
though he’s skint like flint – but believes, really believes that
he’s going to 100% turn things around.

I’m in conversation with someone who said to me that she
thought that Coventry wouldn’t be a place that would stimulate her
enough to really let her creative energy and juices, flow.

So I coached her on that… that Coventry wouldn’t be an inspiring
place for her.

- So tell me Jackie (named changed here), who would you say inspires
you?

“Oh, Steven Covey, Anthony Robbins, the dear old man in the
bakery I’ve know for 22 years, my mum, Lady Diana…”

- Okay, so what is it about Steven Covey that makes him a hero to you?

“Well, his books and his personal balance are really exquisite. He’s
got wonderful stuff to share with everyone”.

- So am I right in saying that it is his books that are transformational
for you?

“Yes, that’s right.”

- So what would the impact be for you if you read his books in a spare
room in your house, lying on the beach, or in a plane flying to
another country?

“There probably wouldn’t be any difference”

- So suppose the material I’ll be sharing with you for three days
was conducted in Coventry, Barbados, London or the Philippines – would
the information change somewhat?

“No, probably not”

So can you see Jackie, it may not be Coventry at all that’s taking
you away from 3 transformational days – it could be a simple story that
you’re playing in your mind about it!

Let me tell you, ‘Jackie’ went away from our conversation with a lot more
understanding about how her thoughts seem to be clouding what she really wants
and we’re going to be speaking again in a few days.

I hope you can see that if you want something bad enough, no hurdle or
obstacle has a chance against you.
